Steve Stewart-Williams is a psychologist and author specializing in evolutionary psychology and the philosophical implications of evolutionary theory. He is a professor of psychology at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, where he teaches courses on evolutionary psychology, behavior genetics, and the philosophy of mind.
Stewart-Williams holds a Ph.D. in psychology and philosophy from Massey University, New Zealand. Before his current position, he was a Senior Lecturer at Swansea University and a postdoctoral fellow at McMaster University in Canada, where he worked with prominent researchers Martin Daly and Margo Wilson. His academic interests center on how evolutionary biology can illuminate human behavior, including topics such as sex differences, nature versus nurture debates, and kin selection. His early work also explored the placebo effect.
