Lorenzo Hagerty

Engineer, Author, and Futurist
Born: August 11, 1942

Lawrence “Lorenzo” Hagerty is an American engineer-turned-entrepreneur, author, and futurist whose eclectic career spans naval service, technology marketing, self-development training, and alternative media. He earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1964, served as a U.S. Navy officer and navigator, then went on to practice law in Texas after graduating cum laude from the University of Houston Law School in 1972. Hagerty’s professional journey also includes founding a home-computer marketing company in the early 1980s, leadership roles in telecommunications and Internet services, and decades of writing and speaking on business, technology, and consciousness.

In the later phase of his life, Hagerty became known for his engagement with psychedelic culture, consciousness expansion, and network-media projects. He launched the podcast series Psychedelic Salon, where he explores themes of mind, culture, technology, and the future. His works often draw from his diverse background and aim to bridge engineering, entrepreneurship, and inner exploration—making complex ideas accessible to lay readers. With a lifelong interest in how individuals and society evolve technologically and spiritually, Hagerty’s work invites readers to consider not only how things work, but how they might be different.
